"This involvement has taught me to value the necessity of embracing inclusivity-and realizing that it takes empathy and a consistent effort in order to help people feel included, safe, & brave to be themselves. “In an effort to assist any who may feel ‘poor among us,’ the PEN Talks program provides an experience, wherein all can benefit from a culture of inclusion, civility, and mutual understanding. She describes her experience with the SCL Center: She is a senior studying Human Development with a double minor in Nonprofit Management & Civic Engagement. This program features forum discussions with a variety of panelists discussing sensitive and important topics. Saane is the Program Director over PEN Talks. Students serving students at Brigham Young University
